I was referred to Dr. Mitesh Patel, M.D., at Boone Hospital Center, by doctor(s) from another hospital in Jefferson City. I have had chronic migraine headaches for many years, and chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain for the last two or three years.
I have been to many doctors and specialists in the past, including the Diamond Headache Clinic (three times) in Chicago, the Mayo Clinic, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and every hospital in Jefferson City over the last 20 plus years. In recent years, doctors have determined that one of the triggers for my migraines was pain from compressed nerves in my upper spine. I had been treated by massage therapists, chiropractors, and sports doctors, to no avail.
In the fall of 2012, I was referred to the Boone Hospital Center Pain Management Clinic. I was met by a friendly and very professional staff, starting with the receptionist, Carolyn, who assisted me in filling out all the required paperwork. I was then introduced to the nursing staff and the technical staff of Dr. Mitesh Patel, MD, one of the pain management physicians.
In all my years of dealing with medical folks, I have never met a friendlier, more professional, knowledgeable or caring group of medical personnel as I have since becoming a patient of Dr. Patel’s. From the first moment of contact, these people have been a credit to the medical profession!
Dr. Patel’s staff, to include Susan (X-ray tech) and the nursing staff of Gracie, Jennifer and Rhonda, are the best of the best at what they do. Not only do these ladies get the job done, but their professional mannerisms and expertise are so inspiring in giving me, a patient, confidence and hope in the outcome of the treatments.
And, this staff works with/for a doctor with a great professional display of competence, along with knowledge, care, concern and expertise in his field of pain management! Dr. Mitesh Patel possesses a rare quality of professionalism combined with not only extreme knowledge of pain management techniques, but also with all the characteristics of a great surgeon who has talent as well as bedside manner and common sense! These are qualities seldom seen in today’s world of medicine is a business with quantity, rather than quality as a goal!
These folks have my undying gratitude and will be my heroes in my quest for care and cures. Missouri is so lucky to have this staff of medical professionals here for all of us who had almost given up on having our lives back.
