During your mammogram, your Harris Breast Center Technologist will ask you questions about your personal and family history and complete a Lifetime Risk Assessment for breast cancer.
Research has shown that certain health and family history factors increase your risk of developing breast cancer.
If you are at high risk for breast cancer, taking advantage of certain medical options may detect cancer at an earlier age – or decrease your risk for development of breast cancer.
The team at the Boone Medical Group High Risk Breast Clinic provides comprehensive breast cancer screening, genetic risk evaluation and counseling if you are at increased risk of breast cancer. Together we can help you to be proactive in your breast health.
The Boone Medical Group High Risk Breast Clinic is led by Dr. Anne Petersen. Dr. Petersen is a board-certified general surgeon who joined Boone Medical Group after practicing for nearly 11 years in Jefferson City. She received her medical degree in St. Louis in 2001 and went on to complete her general surgery residency in 2006. While practicing full time, she also received her Masters of Business Administration in 2009.
Dr. Petersen is backed by a team of expert radiologists, oncologists and caregivers at Boone Hospital Center, Harris Breast Center and Missouri Cancer Associates.
