Each month a weight loss surgery seminar is held for all interested candidates. All patients are required to attend the informational seminar prior to seeing the surgeon an initial consultation. At each seminar, we will cover in detail each of the surgical procedures including how the procedure is performed, risks and benefits, advantages and disadvantages, nutrition needs, activity and exercise requirements and what to expect following surgery. A surgeon, a registered nurse (coordinator of the program) and  dietitian will be present and will be able to answer any questions that you may have. Instructions for Seminar

The class is located in Broadway Medical Plaza #3. This building is located directly across from Boone Hospital Center on East Broadway. Take the elevators or stairs to the third floor and the classroom is immediately to your left once you exit the elevator. If registering online, you will be emailed an application and map to the seminar location.

• Please arrive 30 minutes early so that we may obtain your height and weight.
• We strongly encourage that you bring a support person with you (i.e. spouse, family member or friend). You will need support along the journey and it is recommended that the support person hear all the information as well. No children please.
• Once you sign up for the seminar, you will receive an application packet in the mail or email. You may begin filling out the medical questionnaire at that time if you are interested in surgery. You may return the application at the seminar.
• You will receive a calculation of your BMI and an educational guide to take home with you.
