To qualify for an unpaid internship, applicants must be a student enrolled in a non-clinical academic program that provides credit hours for the internship. Documentation from your school’s internship program will be required in order to be considered. Students must be in their junior year of college or higher in a degree or master’s program.
Additional Documentation Required from Applicant:
- Documentation of the school internship program demonstrating credit will be given for the internship hours as well as requirement guidelines must be submitted with the application.
- One letter of recommendation from an advisor or professor must be submitted with the application.
Once a completed application, school internship program documentation, and letter of recommendation have been received, they will reviewed to ensure that it meets all the internship qualification before being sent to the area of interest department leader. If the department leader is interested, HR will contact the student to schedule an interview. Departments normally consider several candidates for internship positions. If selected for an internship, an offer will be extended.
During the summer months, interns will be asked to commit to a minimum of 20-25 hours per week and up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. During the school year, a commitment of a minimum of 10-15 hours per week is required.
Interested student should apply via the online application. The student must meet the required qualifications for consideration. Students must complete the application, select their areas of interest, and attach/upload school documentation for credit hours.
On Boarding Requirements:
Selected interns will be required to complete the background check and Employee Health screening through Boone Hospital Center process prior to their start. Once an intern has passed the screening process, he/she will be required to attend Boone Beginnings orientation prior to starting in the department.
