Overview

Boone Hospital Center’s oncology services is a continuum of services, ranging from prevention and detection to diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitative and hospice services. Boone Hospital Center’s oncology program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons and receives approximately 2,000 patient admissions for primary or secondary diagnosis of cancer each year. There is a dedicated medical oncology unit (2100) consisting of 25 beds when hospitalization is required, however, A majority of cancer treatments can be performed on an outpatient basis. Outpatient Medical Oncology (OPMO) is a cancer treatment clinic located next to the inpatient oncology unit. Outpatients can receive chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV fluids, antibiotics, pain management and other cancer treatments and tests.
