A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on the future site of the William Street Parking Garage, beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9. The $14 million parking structure will ultimately connect to a new Patient Bed Tower by a bridge over William Street.
The garage design features 900 parking spaces on five levels and four bays, as well as increased lighting and security. S.M. Wilson and Company is the contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed by Fall 2008.
“This is the first piece of the puzzle for the west face of the hospital, so it’s a tremendously exciting time for our facility,” said Dan Rothery, President. “When the entire garage and tower project is finished, everyone will have safer, more convenient access to the hospital.”
Construction on the new Patient Bed Tower is scheduled to begin in Fall 2008.
The media are invited to attend this historic event at Boone Hospital.
