Boone Hospital’s new Labor and Delivery: Sneak preview, June 16

June 14, 2010

Come join Boone Hospital Center and local community leaders on June 16 as we welcome our new baby — the brand new Boone Family Birthplace Labor and Delivery unit.

About 2,000 Boone Babies arrive at Boone Hospital each year. Beginning June 21, these babies will be born into a new environment featuring the latest in patient care and family comfort.

“When this new unit opens, the Boone Family Birthplace will have an entirely new birthing area built around the needs of Boone Babies, parents and their visitors,” said Dan Rothery, Boone Hospital president. “I know our new mothers and fathers will love what we’ve done.”

Located directly above the current Boone Family Birthplace post partum area, the new labor and delivery unit will have 18 patient rooms and a larger waiting area with more space for families. The entire unit is designed to bring the comforts of home to a safe hospital birthing environment with features such as a parents’ pantry, calming artwork and a sleeping couch for the birthing partner.

Media members are invited to come see the new unit during a pre-opening reception at 7:30 a.m. on June 16.
