Diabetes Support Group

Our Diabetes Support Group is a support group of adults with diabetes and their support systems.

The group was designed by members to meet their support needs. Meetings include:

• diabetes educational presentations
• general good health information
• holiday celebrations
• time spent learning from and supporting each member as we all live daily with our disease.

The group is not a replacement for individual diabetes self-management training and treatment from a physician, but a supplement to both.

Look Good, Feel Better

A free program from the American Cancer Society that helps women know that they can look good and feel better while living with cancer. Support group sponsored by Missouri Cancer Associates.

Ostomy Support Group

The United Ostomy Association, Columbia Chapter is a support group for people interested in ostomy surgery, whether professionals (MD, RN, ET nurse, pharmacist, dietitian, etc) or lay person (someone who has an ostomy, family member of an ostomate, or close friend).

This group is a member of the United Ostomy Association, Inc., which is the voluntary health organization dedicated to assisting people who have or will have intestinal or urinary tract diversion by providing psychological support and educational services, support to the family unit, advocacy and promoting the services of the organization to the public and professional communities.

The $23 annual dues cover membership for both the local UOA chapter and the national United Ostomy Association.

"Through Thick and Thin" - Weight Loss Surgery Support Group

This group is open to all past, current and future Boone Hospital Center Weight Loss Surgery patients. We also invite patients who have had Weight Loss Surgery at outside facilities or those who are very serious about undergoing surgery in the future. The support group is free and current patients do not need to pre-register.

All meetings are from 6:30 - 8:00pm in Broadway Medical Plaza #3, Large Conference room (third floor) on the second Thursday of the month..
